The Ten Commandments
of Travel
Written by the Late Mr Clem Clack

1. You shall not expect to find things as you have them at home, for you have
left your home to find things different.
2. You shall not take anything too seriously, because a carefree mind is the
beginning of a fine vacation.
3. You shall not let other tourists get on your nerves, for you are paying
out good money to have a good time.
4. Remember your passport, so you know where it is at all times, for a person
without a passport is a person without a country.
5. Remember you need only take half the clothes you think you need, but twice
the amount of money.
6. Remember if you were expected to stay in one place, you would have been
created with roots.
7. You shall not worry. They that worry have no pleasure. Few things are ever
fatal.
8. You shall not judge the people of a country by the one person with whom
you have had trouble.
9. You shall not make yourself too obviously Australian. "When in Rome"
should be kept before you at all times - in fact the "Romans" own the
place!...and they run it the way they want to!
10. Remember you are a guest in every land, and they that treat their host
with respect, shall be treated with respect.
