We have been arranging many
trips for missionaries based in PNG for numerous organisations for around 10
years now ..... We are getting so many requests, that we now need to put
in some procedures to be fair to all.
We are not a 'general' retail
shop trying to sell you something, for as much as possible, and trying to
offer more than you need etc using "selling" skills. We are an advocate on
your behalf, to locate the best of what is available for your particular
needs. Much the same as going to your accountant, your lawyer, your
financial planner, or other professional advocate who is there to get the
best for you, after hearing your story.
At times it has seemed that
local PNG agents have been slow to respond, or understand the needs, hence
many folk contacting us for advise and options, only to later advise us that
since our local agent has put a lot of time and effort in, and that they
have now got back to us, we will use their services. Responding quickly to
requests by email to someone that is not going to use our services, slows
our response times to our regular faithful customers. We therefore have the
following guidelines for you to consider before contacting us, that should
result in a win-win for both parties
Once you have noted the
guidelines below, then we are most happy to proceed further.
1)
If you are wanting to fly anywhere from PNG on the direct services of Air
Niugini to Singapore, Manila. Hong Kong or Tokyo, then we previously did not
get good rates on these services, but not we do ! So ask away ! Some of
them can be e-ticketed for ease also.
2) If you are wanting to book flights to Australia, then we use
the same KINA based fare, that you obtain in PNG, and convert it to
Australian dollars on the day you are ready to pay, and issue the ticket at
that rate. If the trip is over a month away, we will send your tickets in
the next satchel to SIL for no charge. We can now issue E-tickets
instantly on Air Niugini - most routes - and also Airlines of PNG flights
to/from Australia..
3) Travel to New Zealand and
the Pacific Islands ... We understand that we get the same rates, or often
BETTER rates - as we can access fares not only for the national carriers Air
New Zealand and Qantas, but also Freedomair, Garuda, Emirates, Polynesian
Blue, Air Pacific etc. Cheap fares to NZ are generally almost instant
purchase deals, so best to contact us only when you are almost ready to pay
your monies. Booking through us is good!
4) Travel to North America -
if you are using the SIL/JAARS flights to/from Cairns, and are needing
flights from Cairns to North America, one way or return, then I think that
you will be MOST happy with the fares and options we provide - Qantas, Air
Pacific, Japan Airlines, Air New Zealand, Hawaiian, United, Air Tahiti and
more ! Our rates will be better than local PNG agents. If you are
wanting to go to North America, rates via Tokyo or Singapore may be better
than we can obtain here as per (1) above ... however if you are needing a
stop in Australia/NZ/Pacific Islands, then I believe our rates will be most
competitive.
5) Europe - our rates from
Cairns are excellent via Japan and Hong Kong in particular ... but starting
from Moresby to Europe, you are likely to get a better rate from a PNG
agent. Saying that, our rates, using Airlines of PNG via Cairns both ways
for fixed travel dates are quite competitive.
6) Global Explorer travel -
very popular. We get the local rate - currently K5899 plus taxes/and
levies, and convert it to AUD on the day you are ready to pay - so this
would be the same whether bought in Australia, or PNG or anywhere else! (
currently +/- A$3029 - A$3099)However, depending on the experience of the
agent you are dealing with - they may not be aware of all the combinations
available, and one "may" lose out on fulfilling their dreams for an
economical fare .... We hope that our wisdom and long time in the travel
industry will provide options for you to consider as you plan your extensive
trip home.
Courier fees ???
For travel planned in
advance - NO courier fees apply - we absorb them all. for very last minute
travel within 4 weeks of departure, we would levy a courier fee if we did
not already have a satchel going to Ukarumpa.

- If you have not used Tendai
Travel in the past, a non-refundable
deposit of only A$50 (U$37) is
required before we provide all the
information. this is not a
fee, but deductible off your final balance.
Payments can easily be made by
credit card or same day transfer
from the
SIL accounts department.
